Tollywood Celebs Draw Blank in Telangana Elections

A few film celebrities fielded themselves in Telangana Elections. The ruling party did not give them tickets but they contested from the Opposition. Venigalla Anand Prasad who produced films like Paisa Vasool and Loukyam contested in Serlingampally on TDP Ticket and is trailing Big Time.

Actor Babu Mohan who was elected on TRS Ticket the last time was denied ticket this time and he joined BJP to contest from Andhole. He just managed a little over 1000 votes until now which can be termed as a bare minimum. Reshma Rathod, who has acted in films like Ee Rojullo too contested on BJP ticket in ST reserved constituency of Wyra in Khammam district.

This is her first time the actress contested in an election but she could not even manage 1000 votes in the counting so far. That will mean that the Telangana Assembly will not see the entry of film celebrities this time. It has to be seen if things will be different for them when AP goes to Elections in Summer the next year.
