In a recent move, the government sent notices to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s brother Kondal Reddy regarding his house located near Durgam Cheruvu.

Yesterday, the revenue officials sent notices to multiple properties situated near Durgam Cheruvu Lake. The notices were sent to properties at Madapur Amar Cooperative Society, stating that these establishments fall under the no-development zone of Durgam Cheruvu.

The property owners were ordered to remove their establishments within 30 days. The officials also sent notices to Nectars Colony, Doctors Colony and Kavuri Hills.

The officials stated that these notices were served under Section 23(1) of the WALTA Act which says that the buildings encroaching beyond the permissible limits of the lake must be voluntarily demolished within the given timeframe. Otherwise, the government would take action against those structures.

Residences of many high-profile individuals like politicians, actors and businessmen are situated near Durgam Cheruvu and most of them are served notices now. It has to be seen what will be the next move of the government regarding these establishments.
