In Talk: Revanth Reddy Became TDP’s New Hero?

Telangana TDP hasn’t fully recovered in the recent times, and it is a work in progress. But the solid cadres and relentless working leadership is still fully functional.

In fact, it was so very functional that the TDP cadres played a crucial role in Revanth Reddy’s rise to power in Telangana as they firmly backed the Congress chief in 2023 polls.

And Revanth Reddy has paid back this admiration and respect to a great extent with his activity last night. Fulfilling his promise from the earlier Jubilee Hills by election, Revanth Reddy assembled a statue of legendary NTR at the famous city center of Maitrivanam in Ameerpet, Hyderabad.

Speaking at the statue inauguration event in Ameerpet last night, Revanth Reddy was clearly catering to NTR followers, who are invariably TDP supporters by nature.

Revanth Reddy played the galleries by saying that NTR is a central figure to the Telugu community as any other individual, and he displayed a lot of admiration towards this legendary personality. This clearly sat well with the local TDP community and they’ve started to lap up Revanth as their own.

Revanth Reddy already has the affinity with TDP for his early lineage with the party and he shares a close bonding with his former boss Chandrababu. And now public actions like the launch of NTR statue in Hyderabad will bring him that much closer to the party functionaries.

TDP still hasn’t fully activated its mechanism in Telangana, and we don’t know if it would actually turn fully active by the time of next Assembly election. In case the party stays away from the coming election, there’s a very good chance that the existing functionaries could again back Revanth who has been fairly obedient and welcoming for them.

At the end of the day, the most important thing in politics is playing the right cards tell the right time, regardless of the earlier implications and Revanth is doing it to a brilliant capacity.
