90% of the RTC Buses in Greater Hyderabad remained in the depots as RTC works are going on an agitation demading increase in their wages. Along with the employees in Hyderabad, remaining district employees are also participating in this agitation. They are demanding 43% fitment on par with the government employees.
Only very few buses are working in the major areas of Hyderabad. Passengers are facing severe problems with no proper transportation facilities. Taking it as an opportunity, Auto drivers are fleecing the passengers. On the other side, tenth class students who are writing their final exams have faced severe problems to reach their examination centers.
On the other side, Passengers were facing similar problems with the stalled private buses operations due to the entry tax. Both this combined, transportation in the state capital and out of it is also badly hit. RTC Unions are threatening to intensify their fight if their demands are not accepted.
