Sources in Telangana government tells us that electronic giant Samsung had evinced keen interest in setting up a $100 million hardware plant near Hyderabad. This is the biggest investment so far in the new state and it comes after the state government successfully evaded Power cuts even in the harsh Summer season.
It is learnt that the government officials are in talks with Samsung regarding the investment proposal. This move if materializes will be a big boost in the in electronics and hardware segment of the state.
This is the third manufacturing plant of Samsung in India. The other two being in Noida and Sriperumbudur (in Tamil Nadu). This third plant is aimed at consolidating the South Korean company’s hold on the South Indian market. The company earlier held talks with Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh and now is considering Telangana as the location to setup this plant.
