Sand Smuggling in Pithapuram: Varma Serious

SVSN Varma expressed his anger over sand smuggling in Pithapuram. The ex MLA visited a sand quarry in the area and inspected the place.

He expressed his anger saying the police did not bother to stop smuggling activity despite complaining about 200-300 truckloads being taken away daily. He said a new spot had been identified at Ramanakkapeta.

However, when Varma visited one of sites along with his followers, there were no lorries, except for a JCB. Varma said that the local police were working together with sand smugglers and they needed special glasses to see what was happening.

Varma also said that by mixing two varieties of sand, the buildings were getting damaged. Two buildings in Kakinada collapsed due to this, Varma said.

Speaking following his visit, Varma said ganja consumption had increased in Pithapuram. He shared that he will take the issue to the notice of SP as no concrete steps were being taken to figure out how the ganja came to Pithapuram.




Now, the political circles are abuzz with talk that Varma was indirectly trying to hint that the local Jana Sainik leaders were not doing their jobs.
