Hearing the arguments of the petitioners on State bifurcation, the Supreme court had asked Center to respond in 6 weeks and posted the next hearing on August 20th. That day Supreme court will decide which bench will be hearing this case. With this stand of Supreme court, it is not clear what happens if the state bifurcates on June 2nd and Supreme court identifies flaws in the procedure of bifurcation on August 20th.
On the other side, the court also had refused to issue stay on the bifurcation notification. Petitions of 15 different parties were taken up. Former Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, MPs Sabbam Hari, Undavalli Arun Kumar, Rayapati Samba Siva Rao and BJP leader Raghu Rama Krishnam Raju are among those who knocked the door of courts.
