Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had proved once again that he is not a man who will back step due to criticism. Despite heavy backlash from all quarters, the Chief Minister had decided to go on with shifting of Secretariat to Erragadda. Government had allotted 150 Crore in the budget for this purpose.
Files are moving at brisk pace in finance department for appointment of a consultant for preparing plans and drawings. Also the procedure for handing over 72 acres of the Chest and TB hospital land to R&B department is going on. The land is currently under the control of the medical and health department.
Three separate blocks would be constructed (five to six floors each) with additional space for parking. While two blocks would be allotted to various departments, one block will be dedicated solely to the chief minister and his office. About 100 departments need to be accommodated in the new complex. Of the 72 acres, the buildings will come up in only 25 acres and the rest of the area will be dedicated for development of greenery and amenities for visitors.
