Unusually high number of drownings at the Lady Bird Lake, a stretch of the Colorado River, Austin, Texas has led to rumors that a serial killer is at large and this is leaving the locals rattled.
Since the start of 2023, 4 dead bodies were found at the Lake area and it is reported that there were as many as 8 such deaths in the last 10 months alone. The latest body is that of Hays-Clark’s, 30 who was found dead near a dam.
The locals argue that the lake and the bars surrounding the same have been around for years but there’s never been such a panic-inducing number of deaths associated with the same. They’re suspecting that a serial killer could be at large and hence the unusual death tally.
However, the police department has denounced the rumors, saying there’re no signs of struggle or violence associated with the physical condition of the recovered dead bodies at the lake.
The police have confirmed that the investigation is still in the early stages and urged the public not to believe in the serial killer rumors.
This concerns the Indian community as well, given that the area is densely populated with Indians. But as the police have stated, there’s nothing to worry for now.
