Setback to Ananta Babu in Body Door Delivery Case

YSRCP MLC appears to be headed to jail if one goes by the latest developments. He faced a setback in Andhra Pradesh High Court. Ananta Babu approached the Court for a stay regarding the judgement given by the SC, ST Court.

The High Court clarified that further inquiry must be continued in the case. On May 19, 2022, Veedhi Subramaniam was murdered. The body of the dalit driver was door delivered and the case created a sensation at the time.

However, Ananta Babu confessed to the murder. He was sent to Rajahmundry Central jail for remand. But Ananta Babu was out on bail just a few days later. Subramaniam’s family demanded that CBI must take up the case and punish the culprit.

During elections, the alliance government promised that it will deal with the case and provide justice. After coming to power, as promised, they reopened the case.

The Rajamahendravaram SC, ST Court gave a go ahead to the team that sought further inquiry in the case. It asked the police to file a supplementary chargesheet in 90 days.

Ananta Babu filed a petition questioning the judgement in SC, ST Court. But the High Court dismissed his plea.
