
About 7 people died and four others were injured when a wall adjacent to the queue line collapsed at the Sri Varaha Narasimhaswamy Temple in Simhachalam.
The incident took place around 2.30 am when the devotees were waiting for ‘nijaroopa’ darshan on the occasion of annual chandanotsavam.

The newly built wall collapsed due to heavy rain on Tuesday. Among the deceased are a techie couple from Vizag’s Madhuravada’s Chandrampalem village. The dead were identified as Pila Umamaheshwar Rao, 30, and Sailaja, 26. Both are software employees and are working from home. They were married for three years.
They took the Rs 300 ticket and were in queue when the wall collapsed. While Umamaheshwar Rao worked in HCL, Sailaja worked for Infosys.

The death of the cheerful couple left family and friends in deep shock.
Home Minister Vangalapudi Anita rushed to the spot and the CM and Deputy CM expressed their condolences for all those affected. Chandrababu announced Rs 25 lakh for the families of the deceased.
