IAS officer Smita Sabharwal received major relief from Telangana High Court. The Court directed that no action should be taken against her based on the Kaleshwaram Commission report or the PC Ghose Commission report.
The Court heard her plea stating that the PC Ghose Commission did not consider her version. She also complained that notices under Sections 8B and 8C were not issued to her. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for October 7.
Smita Sabharwal filed the petition challenging the PC Ghose Commission report. She argued that her side was ignored and that the findings were one-sided. The petition came up for hearing on Thursday morning.
The report mentioned her role in the Kaleshwaram project during KCR’s tenure. It alleged she toured districts, submitted ground reports, inspected three barrages as Special Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office, and issued administrative orders.
The Commission claimed she did not place full facts before the Cabinet and recommended action against her. However, the High Court’s order has now stayed any proceedings until further review.
