Cyber Crime Complaint to Ban Actor Srikanth

Complaint filed against Srikanth Iyengar

Congress MLC Balmoori Venkatesh has filed a cyber crime complaint against actor Srikanth Iyengar for making offensive remarks about Mahatma Gandhi. The Congress leader submitted video evidence of Srikanth’s comments to the cyber police and urged them to take strict action.

Venkatesh also called on leading figures from the Telugu film industry to respond to Srikanth’s statements. The video has spread widely across the Telugu states, shocking viewers and sparking outrage.

In the clip, Srikanth, seen smoking while speaking into the camera, called Mahatma Gandhi a paedophile. He accused Gandhi of sleeping beside nude girls aged 15 and 16 under the guise of self-restraint. “If Gandhi is the father of the nation, then I am the bastard child,” he said, adding that India worships Bharat Mata instead.

This is not the first time Srikanth, a doctor-turned-actor, has stirred controversy. Earlier, the Telugu Film Critics’ Association had complained to MAA about his behaviour, and the Digital Media Artists’ Association blacklisted him until he apologised. He later issued an apology.

However, this time, Srikanth faces massive backlash. Trollers are flooding social media with harsh criticism, demanding that legal action be taken. Many users have condemned his remarks as deeply disrespectful and unacceptable.
