
The rescue team that was trying to reach the eight workers struck in the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel finally found the tentative positions of their dead bodies.
Efforts are on to bring out all the eight bodies and there has been sadness in the area as their kith and kin were waiting for an update on them.

While the optimists hoped to find the workers alive, doubts were raised about their well-being as the rescue operations got delayed.
A portion of the tunnel collapsed on February 22 and eight people were trapped in it. After 6 days of rescue operations, the teams began cutting the tunnel boring machine and other obstacles that prevented them from reaching the trapped workers. The Army, Navy, Rat Miners and NDRF were part of the rescue operations.

The eight included two engineers, two operators from Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir and four labourers from Jharkhand.
