Star Politician Stands in Queue for Coffee

At a time like this, when one sees a minister walk into a coffee shop, stand in a queue, and place an order like an ordinary person, it is quite a surprise. The minister here is Smriti Irani, not just a politician but also a retired well-known actor.

Instead of following the ongoing custom of blaring sirens to pass through traffic and bodyguards and other helpers waiting around them, Smriti Irani has kickstarted a new age of politicians in India, the kind who are grounded.

Irani has certainly turned heads and made supporters on social media for her down-to-earth behaviour. An image of her waiting in a queue in Starbucks has gone viral and people all over twitter are approving it. One tweet admiring her said, “You can poke fun at her for all you like but … There are not too many ministers like that.”
