Surgeon brands his name on Patient’s liver!

Branding takes an important part in marketing any product. How is branding for a service? Word of Mouth? May be advertising? Where to advice and how to is the first question. The same question arose for a Surgeon in Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. The surgeon reportedly branded his initials on of his patient’s liver. This incident was revealed when another surgeon performed a routine operation on the unnamed patient.

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust suspended the accused surgeon and are investigating in to the matter. The trust declared that the surgeon and patient’s name will be revealed only after the completion of the investigation. After the investigation, the patient will be entitled to big compensation from the hospital and the surgeon could be removed permanently from practice.
