Survey: Hyderabad, Best in Quality of Living!

Mercer’s Quality of Living rankings 2016 had adjudged Hyderabad as the Best Indian City in in terms of quality of living in India. Hyderabad achieved this feat for the second year in a row. However Hyderabad slipped one rank from last year’s World ranking. This is due to increased power disruptions, and extreme weather situation.

Pune is ranked 144 in the list. Factors such as relatively lower crime rate, lesser air pollution and improved options for international and reputable English speaking schools helped Hyderabad. Incidentally, India’s biggest cities, Delhi and Mumbai are ranked lower than Hyderabad and Pune in the list.

The survey took in to consideration of over 450 cities through out the globe. Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo is above Hyderabad by 6 ranks, at 132. Dhaka in Bangladesh is ranked 216 and cities of Pakistan are ranked 193, 199 and 202 respectively.
