Nellore district is a tough nut to crack for the Telugu Desam Party. In 2014 Elections, the party managed to win only three seats out of the total ten constituencies.
In 2019, the party drew a blank. In the Corporation Elections that happened in 2021, YSR Congress won all the fifty six divisions leaving TDP high and dry.
But things have changed for the party for the upcoming elections. In the two seats of Nellore – Nellore Rural and Nellore City, TDP candidates are cruising towards a humungous victory according to the surveys.
Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, who won on two times on YSR Congress ticket defected to TDP making phone tapping allegations on the Ruling Party and is comfortably placed in Nellore Rural Segment.
Kotamreddy is known to be a mass leader and is always accessible to the people of the constituency, that is helping him big time.
Similar situation is existing in Nellore City as well.
Former Municipal Minister Ponguru Narayana lost 2019 Elections by a small margin in Jagan‘s wave. But things have changed so much for TDP here. Jagan had to replace former Minister Anil Kumar Yadav here basing on the surveys.
Narayana‘s money power and local connections will help TDP big time here.
Surveys suggest that both these leaders are looking at a minimum of 25,000 – 30,000 majorities in the coming Elections. This will also help Nellore MP candidate. This is a stunning turnaround for TDP in Nellore.
