Telangana CM Revanth Reddy attended as the chief guest for giving away the Jaipal Reddy Democracy award at a star hotel in Banjara Hills.
Speaking on the occasion, Revanth Reddy spoke about the state of politics today. He lauded the role of late Jaipal Reddy in the formation of Telangana state. Revanth Reddy underscored the importance of the services of Jaipal Reddy in the Telangana movement.
In keeping with the tone of the function, CM Revanth Reddy rued about the kind of politics at play in today’s time. He said seniors like Chinna Reddy were present at the event. Reddy pointed out that today’s politics were swiggy politics.
Instead of Ideological politics, swiggy politics are the order of the day. Who can deliver fast, who is online or who will deliver fast, have become important.
No one is interested in knowing what or who a politician is committed to. No one is looking at what ideology one is following. What are their core principles, on what principles are their politics based, what principles do they work for or what principles – these no longer matter, said Revanth Reddy.
The number of ideological politicians is coming down drastically across the country. It is not good for democracy and upholding democratic values, said Revanth Reddy.
