‘T’ eagerly waits AP to move its offices!

Andhra Pradesh government had decided to move some of its departments to the Temporary Capital in Guntur district from the next academic year and subsequently will be vacating the corresponding office spaces here in the common capital, Hyderabad.

It is said that Telangana government is already thinking on various options in making use of these vacant office spaces. The first priority is to let some of its departments use the best spaces vacated. And the other options will include letting out the freed built-up spaces to private organizations, shifting other government offices into these buildings or even auctioning the available office space to private firms.

Already Andhra Pradesh has shifted irrigation, fire services and health departments to Vijayawada and have been functioning there for the past couple of months. Telangana government did not occupy these chambers till date as they were not very expansive. On other side, AP government will not leave the blocks alloted to it in the secretariat for 10 years, as long as Hyderabad remains the joint capital of the two states.
