TDP @ 42: A Different DNA Altogether!

tdp42-years

Today is the 42nd birthday anniversary of the Telugu Desam Party. It was on the same day in 1982 that NT Ramarao announced the party name as Telugu Desam. Since then, TDP has left an indelible mark on the Telugu people and also played a crucial role in National Politics.

The last one year has been very crucial in the history of the party. We have seen heights of Vendetta Politics in Andhra Pradesh and Chandrababu Naidu himself had to spend more than 50 days in jail.

Just when everyone started writing off TDP as a gone case, it is amazing how TDP made a stunning comeback and looks like a potential prospect for the upcoming elections.

The announcement muhurtham of Telugu Desam seems to be very well timed. The party ran into several crises and steered out of them comfortably every single time.

The resilience of TDP has become the talk of the Telugu States, especially after the struggle of BRS.

After leading Telangana for ten years, BRS could not survive even for 100 days. The party is staring at emptiness with all the leaders leaving the party in droves as if there is no tomorrow. The other day, even a candidate who got an MP ticket withdrew and left the party.

Compare the situation with TDP where Chandrababu Naidu successfully kept the party running even though he has been in Opposition for fifteen years.

Moreover, he faced autocratic rules of YSR, KCR, and Jagan Mohan Reddy in the process.

One can not stop wondering if TDP’s DNA is different altogether after seeing the struggles of the BRS.

The next couple of months are very crucial for TDP. It has to win at any cost as it is evident Jagan will go to any extent to harrass the Opposition.

Jagan equipped with modern warfare like Political Strategists, Social Media Propaganda and Media Management is deadly and the state can not survive another five years of misrule. So, Chandrababu should lead TDP to victory, and in the next couple of years, we may even see the leadership transition in the party.
