TDP and BJP not to allow KCR’s tactics!

Telangana government’s idea of dividing the Greater Hyderabad Muncipal Corporation is not as easy as said. The entire GHMC region is made the common capital for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for the next 10 years. Any changes to it will need amendments to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act. TDP and BJP who are currently strong in the region are least likely to agree for these changes as it will give a chance for TRS and MIM to become strong in the region.

Even though TRS enjoy good hold in Telangana, TDP and BJP manage to have a hold over the capital due to the GHMC region in its current form. Dividing the corporation in two or three, will make TDP and BJP insignificant in the capital. The tenure of the present GHMC’s council expires this December. The Telangana State is mulling on the options to bring in these changes before the GHMC elections by bypassing the political and legal repercussions. If it is not possible, TRS will hope that its alliance with MIM and the defections from TDP will help it in winning the corporation.
