TDP Becomes Kingmaker In An Outside AP Elections Port Blair (Andaman and Nicobar islands) Municipal Election results are out and TDP has won two wards and is now the Kingmaker there.

In the 24 wards, BJP has won 10, INC and DMK combine has won 11. One independent also won and is supporting BJP. That leaves both the sides with 11 wards each.

Both the sides need the support of TDP to win the magic number. TDP is yet to take a decision about the alliance and is keen on getting the Chairman post for two years in lieu of its support.

Out of the two candidates TDP won, one is a lady and the Port Blair Municipal Chairman post is reserved to women this time. It will be very interesting if the party has managed to pull it off.

Port Blair has decent Telugu population and TDP always has a small presence here. Interestingly, the party has won one ward in the last elections and bettered it to two this time.
