TDP Clean sweep in Godavari districts!

Looks like Telugu Desam Party is regaining its lost ground in Godavari district. The party is almost sweeping Godavari district in the just announced Municipal election results. Except for Narasapuram, TDP is clearly leading in all the remaining 7 municipalities in West Godavari district. Where as in East Godavari, TDP is way ahead of YSR Congress in almost 7 municipalities and the contest is close in the remaining three.

So far, TDP won 158 ward counselors in West Godavari while YSR Congress managed 39. And in East Godavari,TDP is cruising in 169 wards and YSR Congress just managed 80 wards. Congress is almost decimated in both the districts with Independents winning more wards than Congress party. It had managed just 4 in East Godavari and is yet to open account in West. TDP is also clearly ahead of YSR Congress in Rajahmundry and Eluru Municipal Corporations.
