TDP Experiences Drifts JDS Away from BJP

JDS has lent its support to Congress and laid stake for the forming of the next government in Karnataka. BJP is also laying the stake as the Single Largest Party. Both the sides are awaiting the Governor’s decision now. BJP is shocked with JDS taking Congress side since BJP and JDS have worked prior to the elections with a tactic understanding.

Both the parties helped Each other indirectly in seats where they are respectively strong. But then JDS decision has come in the backdrop of BJP illtreating TDP. JDS is of the opinion that BJP will not allow Regional Parties to thrive and so such an alliance will be detrimental for its interests.

Moreover, BJP has offered Deputy Chief Minister Post for JDS while Congress is ready to give away the Chief Minister Post. Congress also offered more Ministerial Berths to JDS. Also, with BJP just needing a handful of seats for the simple majority, the saffron party offers less bargaining Power to JDS than in the case of Congress.
