In the 2024 elections, TDP and its allies achieved a clean sweep in the twin Godavari districts, Krishna, and Guntur. Winning with the same dominance in these MLC elections is remarkable.

TDP candidate Alapati Raja won the Guntur seat with a record majority. His opponent, Lakshmana Rao from PDF, had previously served as an MLC four times and had the backing of YSRCP, Communist parties, and Congress. Despite this, Raja won with a record margin.
Similarly, in the twin Godavari districts, TDP candidate Perabathula Rajasekhar is heading for a landslide victory.

It’s worth noting that in the 2023 graduate MLC elections, YSRCP was defeated, followed by their shameful loss in the Assembly elections.
Some may point out that the candidate supported by TDP lost in the Teachers’ MLC election. However, TDP did not field an official candidate there, and since it was an election among associations, the government’s performance was not a central factor.
