The main opposition TDP has intensified efforts to finalize its candidates for the upcoming assembly elections. It is expected to release the first list of 20-25 individuals by the time of Sankranthi. Party sources indicate that the first list may not contain any major surprises and will likely feature the names of leaders who are confirmed contestants.
It appears that the first list will include names such as Chandrababu from Kuppam, Lokesh from Mangalagiri, and Achchennaidu from Tekkali. Party sources suggest that this list is being curated to include individuals from various social classes across the three regions of the state.
A phone survey is currently underway in respective constituencies using the IVRS system. Two surveys are being conducted—one with party members and another with the general public. Field-level surveys are also being carried out.
The list is expected to be released either before or after the festival. Following the release of the election schedule, additional lists are anticipated in February. Until Wednesday, Chandrababu participated in six “Ra..Kadalira” meetings.
In these meetings, Ugra Narasimha Reddy is in charge of Kanigiri, Shyavala Devdat for Tiruvuru, Pitani Satyanarayana for Achanta, Bhuma Akhilapriya for Allagadda, Baby Nayana for Bobbili, and Yanamala Divya for Tuni.
Among them, there is some uncertainty in the case of Devdutt, but it appears that they are leaning towards finalizing his candidacy. Kurugundla Ramakrishna is in charge of Venkatagiri. Party sources indicate that all of them are likely to be given tickets.
