Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced Rs. 5000 crore for the construction of Young India Integrated Residential Schools.

The presentation of these schools’ designs was showcased this afternoon at the Secretariat. Along with Bhatti Vikramarka, cabinet ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Ponnam Prabhakar, and Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari also participated in the session.

Speaking at the meeting, Bhatti Vikramarka mentioned that many residential schools in the state do not have their own buildings and are being run in rented properties.

“In order to offer international standards of education to poor students, the government has decided to set up these schools. They will serve as a model for other schools across the country,” said Bhatti Vikramarka.

These schools will be constructed in every constituency of the state. So far, 25 constituencies have offered land for these schools, which will be built on plots of 20-25 acres.

The schools will offer education up to the 12th standard. The foundation stones for the first set of schools will be laid during this year’s Dasara festival.

Bhatti Vikramarka also stated that the Congress government will spend Rs. 5000 crores on these schools within a year, in contrast to the Rs. 73 crores allocated by the previous BRS government for residential schools.

The schools will focus on students’ all-round development, including sports and cultural activities, alongside academics. The construction will prioritize the use of green energy.

Theatres will also be built in these schools to provide satellite-based education and promote integrated learning.
