The Telangana government has issued warnings over rising cases of child porn in the state. It stated that watching such videos puts children’s lives at serious risk. Authorities warned that strict action will be taken against viewers and there will be no lineance.
The government said watching or sharing child porn on social media or other digital platforms will invite severe punishment. Despite strict vigilance by agencies, the number of people watching such content increased sharply in Telangana during 2025.
The cyber security bureau said cases of child porn watching rose manifold compared to 2024. Cyber police traced and arrested many offenders involved in viewing such content. In 2025 alone, 869 offenders were identified and cases were registered.
Of these, 423 offenders were arrested, according to cyber police officials. Cyber security officials said only 37 people were arrested in 2024. Despite strong rules, the sharp spike has baffled police, who say future cases will be handled with an iron fist.
