10 Days Away – Is the Hype Real or a Repeat?

Telangana Elections are around the corner. All the political parties have increased their campaign ahead of the December 7th polling. TRS is the absolute favourite when KCR dissolved the State Assembly in September but after that things have changed drastically. In fact, they appear to have changed later on if we go by a section of media.

While a section of media still predicts TRS holding the edge, another section says that Mahakutami managed to take the edge after TDP and Congress joined hands. They say the extra advantage TDP brings to the table made the difference. No one can know who is true until December 11th which is when the results will be out.

Interestingly, the Mahakutami arrangement in 2009 elections with TDP, TRS, and Communists also invoked similar hype in a section of media. They predicted a walkover for Mahakutami back then but at the end, the ruling party then (Congress) under the leadership of YS Rajasekhara Reddy came back to Power.

It has to be seen if the current hype for Mahakutami is the same as in 2009 or if they are really winning. Mahakutami allies say that Praja Rajyam Party played the spoilsport back then and this time, there is no third alternative whatsoever in Telangana. Let us see who will have the last laugh on December 11th.
