Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao proudly announced that Telangana do not want power from Andhra Pradesh even if that state is willing to give power now. Everyone hoped that the ongoing PPAs controversy will be over due to this stand of Telangana government. However Telangana government changed its opinion in days time. Minister Harish Rao announced in the assembly a short while ago Telangana government is pursuing the issue with the Center.
“AP is adopting malicious tactics in deviating from AP reorganization Act. We are in touch with center in bringing Telangana’s share from AP projects. We are also trying to bring back Lower Sileru Project”, Harish Rao announced in Assembly. Harish requested Congress to cooperate to the state government in this issue and fight for it in Parliament.
It is known that Telangana is awarded 53.89% Power from all the power projects after state bifurcation. But Andhra Pradesh had withdrew unapproved PPAs of new power projects of Krishnapatnam and Hinduja and refused Telangana share from them. They only agreed to share in the equity of the project for Telangana’s investment.
