T-government braces up for Power Challenge

One of the biggest achievements of Telangana government till date is the power management making sure that there are no power cuts last year. But bigger challenges await for the state in the coming years.

The Power demand in the state will go up by multiple folds with government’s promise of 9 hours power to agriculture, Hyderabad Metro Project and several Lift irrigation projects coming up.

The state government is estimating that its own production will go up by 1800MW by next project with couple of projects becoming operational. On the other side, the state government is planning to purchase 1500MW from outside sources for a period of 8 years. CM KCR wants to make the state completely Power sufficient and impress all sections of the society in the next elections by projecting it as an achievement.
