The Jubilee Hills bypoll is over and you now see the Telangana government nearing its two year mark. CM Revanth Reddy has written to the Congress high command for a reshuffle, as party insiders confirm, and the process appears to be moving fast.
Four to five ministers are set for induction and three to four members face removal. Portfolios of current ministers are also expected to change. The proposal has gone to AICC president Mallikarjuna Kharge and former AICC president Rahul Gandhi for approval.
Ponnam Prabhakar, Jupally Krishna Rao, Konda Surekha and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy are expected to step down. Those considered for induction include Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, Beerla Ilaiah, Aadi Srinivas, Mahesh Kumar Goud, K Madan Mohan Rao and Balu Naik.
Key portfolios such as finance, revenue, home, IT, commercial taxes and MAUD are expected to shift to senior leaders. Among BC leaders, Mahesh Kumar Goud might replace Ponnam Prabhakar. If Konda Surekha goes, Aadi Srinivas and Beerla Ilaiah may be accommodated. Jupally Krishna Rao may be replaced by K Madan Mohan Rao.
As Nizamabad has no representation, Mahesh Kumar Goud or Madan Mohan Rao are expected to join the cabinet. If Ponnam leaves, Aadi Srinivas will represent the Karimnagar constituency. These adjustments aim to balance regional and community representation.
There is a demand for an ST Minister, and that role is likely for Balu Naik. Beerla Ilaiah is being considered for Yadav community and Nalgonda representation. Rajagopal Reddy may replace Komatireddy Venkat Reddy to strengthen regional influence.
D Sridhar Babu is likely to get finance from Bhatti Vikramarka, while Bhatti may move to home. Civil Supplies may go to Rajagopal Reddy and revenue to Uttam Kumar Reddy. IT is expected for K Madan Mohan Rao and Commercial Tax for a new minister.
Several senior MLAs and MLAs are expected to take up roles as chief whips and whips. The goal is to stabilise the cabinet structure for the next three years and ensure smoother governance across departments.
