Double Bed Room Scheme a Farce?

A Report by a National Newspaper has published this worrisome report about the Prestigious Double Bed Room Scheme in Telangana. The Report refers to an RTI application filed by an activist, Ganji Srinivas. It said that the government has proposed constructing Two Lakh Double Bed Room Houses and estimated that it would cost 13000 Crore.

Housing Department had proposed this. But then the RTI Reply revealed that no allocation was made. The Department also revealed that the government is yet to finalize the process of Double Bed Room Applications and the necessary guidelines to sanction a house to the needy. This is the plight of the scheme in all the districts of Telangana.

Double Bed Room Scheme is the prestigious scheme rolled out by the Telangana Government. Telangana Ministers hurriedly laid foundation stones for many such Double Bed Room layouts in Greater Hyderabad ahead of the GHMC elections last year but none of them registered any progress. But then lack of proper opposition and favourable media narrative is helping the government in masking this.
