To prove its commitment towards Hyderabad development and pacify the public anger after the recent inundation in the city, Telangana government is hastily taking up some demolition of illegal buildings. The Corporation is demolishing buildings from the last one week but then legal experts say this can lead the government to trouble very soon.

Several of these buildings have applied for regularization under the Land Regularization And Building Regularization Schemes floated by the government before the GHMC elections. The government is taking up the demolition even as the applications are still pending with the corporation. The victims say it is unethical to demolish them without clearing the applications.
Some of them are contemplating to move to the courts. On the other side, some of the buildings that are demolished have all the necessary permissions which can not be demolished with a valid reason and legal procedure. But then in a haste, the corporation is demolishing all of them. If the victims go to court, the government may have to shell out huge compensation.
On the other side, there are allegations that rich and the influential are being spared in the demolition. A School Building belonging to an MP who recently joined TRS was spared from demolition as he used his political clout in the last minute. The officials who came for the demolition went back at the last minute.
