Only the other day, KTR turned back following ACB’s denial to allow his counsel. In a lunch motion petition to the HC, KTR requested that his lawyer accompany him to ACB office.

KTR’s lawyer Prabhakar Rao presented his arguments first and asked the court to allow a lawyer to go with KTR. He said the lawyer can be allowed at ‘disable distance’. Rao told the court that the Supreme Court gave a ruling on these lines in the past.

ACB was represented by Additional Advocate General(AAG) Tera Ranjit Reddy, who wanted the court to restrain lawyer’s presence.

After listening to arguments, the judge wondered what was wrong in allowing the lawyer along with KTR. He said the lawyer would in a separate room where he could see the accused and the officer.

The judge told the counsels that the name of lawyer accompanying KTR be submitted in court. He ordered three names be given out of which one person would go with KTR.

The judge also questioned AAG if the ACB office had the facility for the lawyer to see the petitioner and questioning officer.

The court postponed final hearing to 4pm.
