Telangana had put up good show in December. The state has amassed 3000 Crores in December and it is expected to be more than that of Andhra Pradesh. Commercial Taxes contributed 2272 Crores, Liquor income 205 Crores, Stamps and Reservations 233 Crore, Transport 170 Crores and Mining 52 Crores. Income from Other than Taxes is slightly more than 100 Crores.
However this income is still not sufficient to meet the towering One Lakh Budget proposed by the state. The normal expenditure of the state is pegged at 2500-2700 Crores which means the state still have to go a long way to become self sufficient.
The state government managed to get the income from Center in time in the recent time. Telangana government is of the opinion that the state should correct the mistakes in tax collection which will improve the income with out depending much on center’s help.
