Telangana Number One in Tax Income Growth Percentage

Telangana is the Number One in the Country in Tax Income Growth Percentage. In 2016-17, the Income of the State through important Taxes increased by 17.82% while the income from all Taxes increased by 17.81%. Controller and Auditor General (CAG) released the numbers till February.

Even though the Income from Taxes are growing at higher rate than other states, in terms of real numbers, Maharashtra and Gujarat are ahead of Telangana. Andhra Pradesh registered 9.01% Growth Percentage in Income through Specific Taxes while it is 9.94% in all Taxes.

Andhra Pradesh is ranked Seventh in the country in Tax Income Growth Percentage. These numbers will be highly impacted when the Central government introduces GST from July. The numbers of the next fiscal will be very interesting.
