Telangana Ranked Three, Andhra Pradesh Fourteen

Telangana is ranked third in the country in statewise IT exports in 2020-21. 84,775 Crores worth IT exports were on Telangana’s name in the year. Only Karnataka (Bengaluru and Mysore) and Maharashtra (Mumbai and Pune) are ahead of Telangana (Hyderabad) in IT exports.

Andhra Pradesh is ranked fourteenth in the list with paltry 838 Crore worth IT exports. Even states like Odisha and Rajasthan have performed better than Andhra Pradesh. After the bifurcation, AP used to clock around 1500 Crore of IT exports. The number went up to 2,000 Crore in 2017.

But then, things have been downside after 2019. Andhra Pradesh is the only state from the South which is underperforming in the IT exports. As far as Telangana is concerned, the state is increasing exponentially year on year but is still a long way to go to match Karnataka.

Karnataka’s IT Exports are worth 205,131 Crore Rupees which are like almost double that of Telangana’s. That should be the next target for the state.
