One of the prime problems for the industrial development of Telangana is the lack of sea coast. The state when divided from Andhra Pradesh had lost one of the biggest coastal lines in the country. The state CMs may be brandishing swords on each other politically, but Telangana government did not hesitate to put a proposal to develop a port on AP coast which can be used by it.
On the other side, Andhra Pradesh also responded positively to the proposals and promised to cooperate with a proper proposal in state. Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu urged the officials to be flexible to their Telangana counterparts in this issue as anyways Telangana is a neighbouring state and a blood brother.
The union government already promised Telangana of a dry port on the banks of Godavari river, but the new state is interested in having an exclusive seaport which could boost its export-import activity. Narasapur, Nizampatnam, and Vodarevu ports are geographically closer to Telangana border and one of these are likely to be developed by both the states as joint venture.
