Telangana’s 4930 Crore arrears for already struggling AP

Andhra Pradesh is struggling from severe financial crunch since the bifurcation. The state is already struggling even to give salaries to the employees every month. However the state is further burdened by the power share being given to the neighbouring Telangana State. So far Telangana Genco has arrears of 4930 Crore to APGenco.

This is for the Power bills and other charges on this bills levied for the power supplied to Telangana State. In the last year, Telangana government had agreed to pay 150 Crore every month but did not pay even one month installment. APGenco had once again written a letter about that to Telangana government.

They clarified that APGenco is in severe financial crunch. If at all, the arrears continue, APGenco will not be paying for the coal taken from Singareni Colleries. Even if the coal is not paid for, Telangana government still have to pay APGenco 31 Crore for Andhra Pradesh Genco.
