The Comptroller and Auditor-General of India (CAG) will very soon deliver brickbats for both the Telugu states for too much of fiscal indiscipline. Both the states have been over doing their budget estimates just to show exaggerated allocations to various schemes and sections of the society.
The actual budgetary allocations and the expenditures are no where near these estimates made at the start of the year. The overall budgetary estimates of AP and TS together totaled Rs 2,51,754 crore in 2014-15. However the overall budget size of Rs 1,73,584 for United AP state in 2013-14 shows how both the state governments are exaggerating their budgets.
According to sources, actual budgetary expenditure in AP might not have crossed the one lakh crore rupees mark in 2014-15 and the actual expenditure in Telangana state, on the other hand, might have been only around Rs 55,000 crore for the 10-month period (June 2014-March 2015).
