Centre pouring water on AP dreams for seperate DC

own data programmes in telangana and andhraAndhra Pradesh government had planned its own state data center near Vijayawada. The state data center hosts the resident data hub in which data pertaining to all state government programmes and implementation programmes like Mee Seva are processed. The current data center is in Gachibowli, Hyderabad and is maintained by Wipro.

Currently Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are paying for the maintenance in the ration of 52:48 on population basis and the data center will belong to Telangana after the common capital period. Andhra Pradesh had sought a grant of 150 Crore from the Union government for setting up the data center in Vijayawada but the request was turned down.

Andhra Pradesh government wants to shift the data center as soon as possible as there are substantial risks involved with sharing the state data with that of Telangana. The state had once again placed a request, if it is turned down again, then the plans to set up the data centre in the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.
