Tirumala Venkanna yet to Recover from Demonetization Blues!

While the Union Government and RBI are claiming normalcy from the Cash Crunch after Demonetization, even the richest gold in the country, Tirumala Venkanna is yet to recover from Demonetization woes. Usually, Tirumala gets an income of about 5 Crore per day including interests, Gifts, various tickets sale etc.

But then after the Demonetization, the income fell by about 1-2 Crore per day, TTD officials says. The officials are planning to increase some prices to fill the revenue gap. But then the state government has to give a go ahead for this.

On the other side, even after the demonetization is complete, the banned notes are continuing to come into Hundis of the Lord. Banks are not accepting these cash. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) recently wrote to RBI to accept this cash but then there is no response from there. Lok Sabha had passed a bill saying that these Old Currency Notes are no longer the legal tender and with that, TTD’s hopes are almost dashed.
