Last week we have seen news extensively in local and National media regarding TRS joining the NDA government at the Center. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s moves in the center and the state in the past one week also indicated the ushering friendship. However everything was smashed in the last minute with Telangana Minister Jagadishwar Reddy announcing that the party has no such plans in near future.
This statement comes a sudden surprise as KCR’s stand on the center is visibly softened. We have tried our level best to dig in to what is cooking right there but have only found vague answers. They say some of the leaders in BJP including Venkaiah Naidu are not at all favourable to this alliance. They have reported to the high command that it is not fair to leave a partner like TDP for an unreliable partner like TRS. They are reportedly mentioning how TRS used Congress and dumped them when it mattered.
Also this new friendship will paint BJP in a very poor light as it should choose between the old friend TDP or new friend TRS in the upcoming GHMC elections. Dumping TDP will mean that BJP is playing opportunistic politics which will damage its image across the nation. TRS is also equally in confusion as the alliance will prove futile for its Muslim Vote bank which it wooed with great difficulty. However both the parties did not give up the option but are only undecided about the right time.
