Its been more than 3 months the Telangana MSOs have banned the transmission of TV9 channel in the 10 districts of Telangana. Despite exerting pressure from the courts, Central government, the ban still exists. On the other day, Telangana Chief Minister KCR clearly stated that he will not easily excuse these channels who insulted Telangana. In the wake of this, TV9 is trying to impress KCR. It has renamed one of its channel, TV1 as Jai Telangana Channel.
TV 1 is a channel owned and operated by Associated Broadcasting Company Pvt Ltd (ABCL) which also own the popular news channel TV 9. It is said that TV9 now wants to use Jai Telangana channel as the Telangana edition of the new state. We will have to see if this latest move pleases KCR. Even though MSOs have banned the channels it is an open secret that the state government is supporting them from behind the scenes.
