Sangareddy police have arrested four youth from Mancherial including two minors for raping a 13-year-old at a lodge in Secunderabad.
A case was filed with the police by the girl’s parents after she went missing from her house in Sangareddy. Based on the complaint, the police traced the girl by her phone signal to a lodge in Secunderabad.
When the police reached the lodge, they found the girl and the four youth. The girl went to Kurnool four days back and then took a bus to Secunderabad.
Finding her standing alone at the bus stop, the four convinced her to come with them. They took her to the room and sexually assaulted her.
All the four have been booked under Protection of Children From Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). The girl is now back with her parents.
The issue highlights the importance of teaching children to learn to handle anger and emotional issues. Schools must take the onus of explaining sexual awareness and handling anger issues.
On the other hand, the government must stop exposure of minors and youth to adult content and porn which are widely available on OTT channels.
Imposing strict punishment will make the offenders think twice before committing such crimes.
