Telangana government had decided to introduce Two Wheeler ambulances in Hyderabad. These ambulances are introduced to go to the congested lanes where 108 ambulances can not go. The Two Wheeler ambulances will impart first aid to the patients. Only expert medical practitioners will be the drivers in these ambulances.

50 Two Wheelers ambulances will be first introduced in Hyderabad as pilot project and will be later extended to the entire city. This system is in force in Chennai for a long time and was recently introduced in Bengaluru. They are working wonders in both the cities and so are being planned in Hyderabad as well.
These Two Wheelers are also cost efficient and take less time to reach the spot than the traditional ambulances. These vehicles will cost 75 Lakhs to the state and will have GPS tracking system installed. They will carry a small oxygen cylinder, pipes, pulse monitoring system, medicines, syringes etc.
