A Connecticut based New England Brewing Company was forced to apologize after it allegedly used Mahatma Gandhi image on beer cans and bottles on their special edition drink called ‘Gandhi-Bot’.
A petition was filed on the company in Hyderabad High Court contending that Gandhi’s image on the alcohol cans and description of the father of the nation by the brewery is highly condemn-able and punishable under Indian laws.

Even before the petition came up to hearing, the company has apologized and even claimed that its intention was to pay homage and celebrate the apostle of peace. The company further claimed that Gandhi’s granddaughter and grandson have expressed their admiration for the label.
