US Presidential Election Hits IT Jobs?

Reputed IT Companies have cut their recruitment from Campuses by at least 20% this year. The companies have confined to a few top colleges unlike in the past when they visited more colleges. Companies like Wipro, Accenture and Cognizant have cut down on recruiting fresh engineering graduates. The impending US Presidential election, increased automation etc are said to be the reasons.

Some of the software companies are of the opinion that US Presidential election will have an impact on the software industry if Donald Trump becomes the next President of the US. But then some experts feel that it may not be an issue since 60 percent of the software orders for India comes from the United States. The cut down of the recruitments is also attributed the dip in job offers to support and maintenance projects coming down.

Also, some of the verticals like Energy, Gas and Oil as well as banking, finance and insurance sectors not doing well and it had a telling impact on the new recruitments particularly the freshers from colleges. The in-demand courses like skills in Big Data Analytics, Mobile Application etc. are not in the regular curriculum of the colleges which is hampering the campus recruitments.
